Pacific Northwest Ballet School. Pacific Northwest Ballet s school is a key part of the company s successful operation. The PULSTAR is a 1-MW pool-type nuclear research reactor which is administered by the Nuclear Reactor Program and located in Burlington Laboratory on the N.C. The PULSTAR fuel is 4 enriched pin-type fuel consisting of uranium dioxide pellets in zircaloy cladding see reactor specifications . This fuel gives the PULSTAR The PULSTAR reactor is a public facility and gives frequent tours with advance notice and clearance. In November 2010 the PULSTAR reactor was linked to the nuclear engineering department of Jordan University of Science and Technology JUST . The Nuclear Reactor Program administers the PULSTAR Reactor and associated instrumentation as a User Facility. As such all NRP experimental facilities and capabilities are available for use by users within and external to NC State University and the UNC system. NC State s was the first university based reactor program and Nuclear Engineering curriculum and is still running today.
