This hybrid dynamic place provides a comprehensive collection of books journals databases and other resources necessary to support teaching and learning at the University. To celebrate the opening of the Teaching and Learning Building on campus we are hosting a day of bitesize inspirational talks for all students and staff of the University of Birmingham. The Teaching and Learning Building is a education hub at the centre of the campus designed to provide a flexible range of vibrant teaching learning and study environments for collaboration and reflection. Teaching and Learning Centre Plans are now underway for a new purpose-built teaching and learning building which will be adjacent to the 60m new library and look out towards the Green Heart. A hub for education the facility will provide a state-of-the-art teaching and social study space to support the modern learning experience at Birmingham.
The learning resources collection is developed based on the demand from the colleges and Center of Foundation Studies. The Teaching and Learning Student Reference Group comes together at least once each term to meet with Estates the construction company and architects to find out more about the development of the new building.

Big beat legend Fatboy Slim brought a stadium-friendly show to Arena Birmingham on the 22 nd February as part of six UK dates at the tail end of the month. Support came from dance duo Cousn and Birmingham native Hannah Wants before the night s headliner arrived appropriately Hawaiian-shirted. Live Review Funkenteleky A Poetry and Music Thing Hannah Ledlie employed drummer William Wier to read her first piece entitled Hannah Wants an Excuse to Play Drums while she accompanied him. Nafeesa Hamid read partially from her fantastic book Besharam while the four musicians created an effective and atmospheric Overall the show was a well-executed lesson in how to unite a room and tailor a show that could easily have headlined a bigger venue to the intimate O2 Institute 2. Sunset Sons are an amazing live act full of energy charisma and flawless vocals and I can t wait to see them live next time they tour the UK. It was evident that Tears for Fears had not lost any of their technical ability as a live act with Curt Smith easily handling the complex runs of their early material. Their keyboard-heavy sound was also well replicated in the vast cavern of the arena which made for a great live performance. Hannah Gadsby born 12 January 1978 is an Australian comedian writer actor and television presenter.She rose to prominence after winning the national final of the Raw Comedy competition for new comedians in 2006 and since toured internationally as well as on television and radio.. Excitement early on and strong support acts made the night lively but a little more structure could have made the night more memorable particularly for acts that merit some people there scheduling a weekend away around. Unsure what to expect it was a welcome surprise to see a long queue had formed at the side of O2 academy. Since becoming Mixmag s breakthrough DJ in 2014 Hannah Wants has carved out a career of world-renowned status warranting a line of excitable Geordies that trailed round the corner despite fairly few recent releases. The night will showcase the brummy legend alongside her talented selection of support DJs including My Nu Leng and Mak Pasteman as they bring their underground feels and raw tunes.
