Dr Heather Parker graduated with an Honours degree in Cellular Molecular Biology from the University of Canterbury in 2003 she then completed her PhD in the Helicobacter Research Group at the University of Otago Christchurch in 2007. Since then she has worked at the Centre for Free Radical Heather Shearer is is studying the sensitivity of Streptococcus pneumoniae to oxidative stress and how we can improve the killing of these pathogenic bacteria by our immune systems. She is supervised by Professor Mark Hampton Dr Heather Parker and Dr Paul Pace The Centre for Free Radical Research are seeking an Assistant Research Fellow to investigate how protein strands are cross-linked in collagen to strengthen connective tissue.
